When will we know?

Just a quick update on peanut (baby #2 due 8.21.07). An ultrasound is planned for March 20 to determine if we're having an Abraham or a Kenyatta. (These are my names, soon to be vetoed by Michael). I'll keep you updated.

Oh, I love Abraham. But I love Moses even more, and Hans, I love that one too. I have them locked in my name vault and have decided that even if i don't have kids for 10 years and everyone else still names their kids those names that I will use them...that is, if Nat doesn't veto them. But actually he doesn't get too much of a say right now. because yesterday his big thing was that if we have a baby, the child shouldn't have a nursery, but only a crib in the guest bedroom. because, after all, the kid doesn't know anyways...

What is the origin of this name Kenyatta? Times moving quickly. First trimester should be done soon, right?

What's this about no nursery. Ah, Nat. Things to think about. I knew a girl named Kenyatta at some point in life and I liked her and I liked the name. I also like Kenya. HOwever, Michael keeps telling me that we can't name a little white girl a black girl name. So, not so much. The first trimester is finally almost over! I'm 13 weeks on Monday. I'm starting to think we're insane, that we're actually going to have another kid, since Elliot is still so young and, um, undisciplined, could we say?

just as michael is saying that y'all can't name a little white girl a black girl name...i am telling david that we can't name a little white boy a hispanic boy name...santiago! ;o) the joke of it has warn off now, but david fears that michael will be calling our child santiago regardless of his/her real name. :o) i am so open to hispanic names actually, but just not santiago!

hey, i saw your blog off the st. louis blog site. i'm killing some time and stumbled into it. cute kid. i'd love to name a daughter kanisa which is a swahili word (spoken in kenya) but alas i and my husband are white and have also thought it wouldn't be a good white name. a word of warning...kenyatta was the last name of the first kenyan president.
