When he's not sick this is how Elliot spends his days lately.

Morning phone calls

Elliot had a 103 degree fever yesterday and his mama sorta freaked out. I thought, isn't 104 degrees where his brain starts to be damaged? The doctor's office shared my concern. "Bring him in," they said. Well, the Ibuprofen worked and by the time we got to the doc he had come down to 98 degrees. I love drugs. I'm so thankful I live in 2006. We're successfully keeping the fever down now.

So Elliot of course had some phone calls to catch up on this morning, having missed much of yesterday being sick. He keeps attempting to say HELLO when he picks up the phone, holds it to his ear and has whole conversations with whomever he hears on the other side. He paces the upstairs hallway and my closet, having secret meetings via phone, keeping an eye on me the whole time. Maybe he'll work for a secret government operation.

A long lost moment with the computer

This is our first attempt at adding video. The computer has come and gone. We'll see how it goes.

Conversation

He can't really talk yet, but I love to read about other people's conversations with their kids. So, here's a typical one for us:

Mama: Do you like your bath, baby?
Elliot: Do, do, do-do.
Mama: Where's your belly?
Elliot: (Pointing to his chest - we're working on it) Do, do, noo, noo.
Mama: Are you ready to get out, baby?
Elliot: Do, noo-noo. (giggle giggle)

I'm sure you get the gist of it. He repeats himself alot. He's giving some very wet kisses lately. Pucker up and ask him next time you see him.

WE MISS PAPA

This is just a shout out to papa to say that we miss you. Love, Elliot and mama

It's cold in Illinois

Grandma bought Elliot a snowsuit. Thank goodness, since mama didn't actually buy the kid a coat yet and it's supposed to SNOW here tomorrow. I may be asking for the worst mom award back from you, Andi... He had a little trouble maneuvering, but we're sure he'll catch up.

Off to Peoria

We're taking a vacation, Elliot and I, in Peoria. It's a place where naps abound, the food is cooked for you and the floor is always clean. Not to mention the company. It's a happy place. We'll be back Sunday, in time for Michael's day off. Take care of him for us, those of you who are here. Thanks.

Macaroni boy

So, one of the funniest parts of the daily macaroni meal (yes, it is daily - he loves it) is the fact that about 1/3 of the meal ends up on the kid's lap. He actually finds and eats leftover macaroni off of his own chest. He can eat a snack pack of Kraft, a handful of taco meat, a glass of milk AND have room leftover for the whip cream papa has been squirting into his mouth lately. No wonder his little thighs are finally getting chubby! I love it.
