A rejuvinated living room

Last Monday and Tuesday Michael and I played our own version of Trading Spaces. We had about 36 hours to move all books and furniture, paint 3 large bookshelves and 4 walls, and put everything back in time for dinner guests at 6pm Tuesday. Of course, all the while having a one year old. With a little help from Leslie and Andrea (painting and babysitting) we made it. The green, if you can tell that it is green in this picture, is called "Rejuvinate". We feel rejuvinated sitting in it.

Technical difficulties

Hey everybody. I've been trying to post pictures of our newly repainted, remodeled living room. It's not working.

A morning with Grayson

Grayson hung out with us the other day. Elliot mostly followed him around, fascinated with how quickly Grayson moved. They enjoyed lunch together, as they both have a great appreciation for food.

Baby friends and happy art

It's been a happy week for Elliot. Grandma and Grandpa were here Thurs-Mon during which time we took in Chihuly's art in the garden. He was thoroughly spoiled by grandma and already misses her. I can tell because he whines more now that she's gone. He also enjoyed some baby friends. He loves to talk to them, especially Robert Rhodes, seen here on the couch. He charmed Mallory seen here in pink. It's amazing what I can get away with if there's another little person here to entertain him. He's definitely the extrovert baby. Must get that from papa. He stands for longer and longer periods. We're up to 10 seconds at times. I think the first step is very near...

A boy and his truck

Here's a shout out to the loyal black and yellow family. Papa found this truck at Walgreens and couldn't quite resist. Finally a truck to fight against the growing green family of equipment in the Gordon household...

Bathroom work

Sorry for the long time between posts. As you can see, Elliot has been working in the bathroom and clearly has no time for picture taking. His new favorite thing is to take everything out of a container (box, papa's t-shirt drawer, the shelf containing his diapers) and one by one try to put them back. He gets distracted in the putting back category. Here you see him in the pulling out part of my hair rollers from the bottom drawer. He has also discovered that the cabinet doors in the bathroom open, revealing great things of interest like mouthwash. And of course, he found the toilet paper roll the other day. The whole thing was on the floor. But I think he had a great time doing it. I'm sure I let him get away with too much, but he's fun to watch, and what harm does it do to let the kid pull every single diaper off the shelf, and then try to put them back?
